primera fecha 6 de febrero. mexico recibe en el azteca a jamaica, honduras recibira a estados unidos y panama en el estadio romel fernandez se medira a costa rica. dejamos el futbol y vamos con la nba en un partido muy disputado. hablamos de los celtics que recibieron en el td garden a los wizards de washington y les decia muy disputado porque el ganador fue en tiempo extra. el triunfo fue para los celtics 100-94, logrando su segundo victoria de la temporada mientras que los wizards siguen sin conocer la victoria, ya tienen tres derrotas al hilo. 100-94 en tiempo extra gano celtics a wizards hace instantes. les recuerdo que el partido de la mls entre red bulls y dc united fue suspendido y vamos con las imagenes. para mostrarles parte la fuerte nevada que asoto esa region y que obligo a la liga a suspender el partido y se ha reprogramado para jugara maÑana a las 7.30 de la noche siempre y cuando el tiempo lo permita. ambos tecnicos y jugadores salieron a la cancha pero era imposible jugar, por la integridad fisica de los protagonistas obliga a postergar el partido este serie la segun

is the a train, crossing the water of jamaica bay. new york city is truly huge in terms of the number of people who live here and how much land the city covers. this section of the train goes from queens across jamaica bay. the trip over the water is long enough that, i kid you not, pigeons and learned to get on the train and ride it to the other side. the pigeons commute. and where they are going is the rockaways, an atlantic beach peninsula, which is still part of new york city, but it's more than an hour's ride from manhattan and it has sand and waves and lifeguards all at the southern edge of new york city. the rockaways are a funny place. it has a dozen distinct neighborhoods with a lot of housing for the elderly and a lot of housing projects when the city put thousands of families way out there, an hour's ride from the manhattan skyline that everybody e thinks of when they think of new york. half a century ago when the projects went up, the urban planners thought the elderly and poor people didn't need to be near town or near jobs, so they put them way out there in the rockaways

-year-old man was shot to death during an attempted car jamaicaing friday night. a woman watched one of the masked men shoot the man. >> i saw the guy shooting, shooting just like that, one, two, three shots. reporter: this is one of the areas where the two men attempted a robbery but instead committed a homicide. the men went on a crime spree, robbing three other locations at gunpoint. this jack-in-the-box at 8:58 p.m. and this spa at 9:01. the men's car was spotted by sap holiday say police officers who gave chase. one officer was shot and wounded after suspects shot at the marked police car which stopped behind the suspects. police returned fire and eventually caught up with one of the two suspects. they identified him as jonathan wilbanks of san jose who was wounded. the other suspect is still being sought. we also talked to the month who was in the car. he says all he remembers is a masked man and a gun and blocked out the rest of the eek. now, the san jose police officer who was wounded, has been with the police department for five years. the police are asking for anyone with info

as it forms just south of jamaica. it actually formed last monday. one of the computer models stood out, and even last monday before the storm even formed, before it even had a name, one of the computer models in particular actually giving us this storm coming up the coast. and that particular computer model comes out of europe, believe it or not. it is the european model. and that particular model brought that storm right over towards the coast. it made that left-hand turn very, very quickly. right into our region. this was the model we looked at. this is the model we have stuck with, because by far, it is a better computer model than, unfortunately, the american models, which not enough money has been put in the american models lately. even last wednesday, the american models taking sandy out to sea. it wasn't until wednesday night, into thursday, that they started to converge on the same model, as the european model. so once again, we were following the euro all together. we're looking at another storm potentially next week. it could be a potential nor'easter. one of those comput

peninsula. the atlantic is to the south. jamaica bay, to the north, separates what they call the rockaways from the island of manhattan. after 1900, it was a beach resort. but over the years, it settled into what were neat rows of middle class homes. the streets are piled high with sand now. the main drag has been knocked out of business. but a neighborhood is made of people, and here, they take care of their own. during the storm, mike mcdonnell sheltered in a house with his neighbors when the tidal surge began filling the street. >> mike mcdonnell: the windows blew in. you'll hear "pop, pop, pop, pop." and all the water came rushing in. it came right up the stairwell. i said i'm going to the front of the house to see how much tide is still going to rise. at that moment, a gas line blew. and there were... there were embers of flames pouring over the house, the equal to that of a snow globe, if you shake a snow globe and you see all the white coming down. but this was raining fire. >> pelley: when the house burst into flame, mcdonnell wanted to lead everyone through the tide to a
